Fictional Aircraft
These are entirely made up. Zero basis in reality, other than the fact someone real came up with 'em.
Nordennavic Originals: - These are aircraft based on those featured in Ace Combat: Northern Wings. Other than the FT-XIV, that one's all us.
- P-26 “Roller” - A small, Gripen-adjacent canard delta.
- P-26G “Roller Kimaira”
- P-28 “Vector” - A large, tri-engine Tomcat-adjacent variable sweep fighter.
- P-46 “Cobra II” - A medium-sized, Berkut-adjacent forward swept wing fighter.
- R-20 “Stingbolt” - A medium-sized, Warthog-adjacent ground attack aircraft.
- R-20C “Varrtsvin”
- R-30 “Cobra” - A large, Fullback-adjacent multirole fighter-bomber.
- EP-28 “Electrothrust” - A large, tri-engine Tomcat-adjacent variable sweep EWO aircraft.
- EP-28B “Electrothrust 2”
- FT-XIV “Skadi” - Frankly I have no idea what this godforsaken mistake in aircraft design is.
Vanguards: - One of our players came up with these! They're cool! Basically imagine if an F-111 and F-14 had a kid. And then that kid got sold to the air force and marines.
- F-13A Vanguard - Initial variant, naval interceptor.
- F-13B Vanguard - Land-based tactical strike variant.
- F-13C Vanguard - Naval tactical multirole variant. Built for the Marines, Oorah.
- F-13D Elster - Upgraded naval interceptor variant. It's just better.
- F-13E Arthurguard - Upgraded land-based strike variant. It's also better, but at bombing.
- F-13M Super Vanguard - Upgraded naval multirole variant. It's better at shooting planes, though.
- F-13G Super Vanguard - Upgraded naval multirole variant. It's better at bombing stuff, though.
- EF-13A Starling - F-13E converted to EWO duties. No radar for you, or the enemy.
- EF-13G Super Starling - F-13G converted to EWO duties. It's just better, but at jamming!
Fictional Variants of Real Airframes
These are the real fake variants. Made up for the sake of convenience, gameplay reasons, or just because it was funny.
- EF-111F Raven - An F-111F upgraded to perform EWO duties. It's like an EF-111A, but more modern.
- Sea Harrier FARS.2 - A Sea Harrier FA.2 upgraded to perform its interceptor role better.
- Sea Harrier II GR.13 - A navalized Harrier II with multirole capabilities.
- EF-16G Shockviper - Ever annoy you how your F-16 can't really piss off every single SAM site within 30 miles at once? Now you can do it! HARMs packaged separately.
- F-2C+ Viper Zero Super Kai - Hidden behind this absolute mouthful lies a canarded F-2A, the apex predator in the Viper's bloodline.
- EF-15G Spark Eagle - A Strike Eagle that's been gutted, put back together, and optimized to jam the hell out of enemy radars.
- F-15EJ Kai+ Super Eagle - Hidden behind this absolute mouthful however, lies a canarded F-15E Strike Eagle with thrust vectoring. It's basically that one jet from Patlabor 2.
- xS-32EA Golden Lighthouse - An EWO version of the xS-32 prototype. It's almost not a Berkut!
- MiG-25ZSL Foxbat Advanced - An upgraded version of the Foxbat. Sadly, it exists only in the silly plane TTRPG.
- MiG-25MK Super Foxbat - See above.
- MiG-31EF Shockfox - Shockingly enough, this EW variant of the Foxhound is also made up. Still goes fast, though.
- J-9C Flashpoint - A variant of an unbuilt airframe, this keeps the delta-winged fighter mostly relevant in a modern-ish setting.
- CF-106 Broadhead - An upgraded version of the CF-105 Arrow. May it live a long, prosperous life on the Google docs of SSE.
Semi-Fictional Aircraft
These are real aircraft that went unbuilt, were prototyped and unaccepted or were simply proposed and never seriously designed. That or they're real aircraft we messed with a bit to make them playable.
- Rafale A - They may have never armed the real tech demonstrator, but that's not stopping us, is it?
- Rafale BMN - Unbuilt specialized interceptor variant of the Rafale M. Two seats, just missiles, no bombs. Not like you need those, anyway.
- Rafale R - Proposal for a recce oriented Rafale. Recon doesn't really exist in Aces High, so we made it an EWO.
- EK-2000 Thunderstorm - Our own spin on the Typhoon ECR, that's about it. This one isn't just a pod you bolt onto a normal Typhoon.
- JAS39EF Gripen EA - The EW version of the Gripen F. SAAB didn't make it real, so we did.
- F-5IR-80 Thundercat - This is just a really weirdly named HESA Saeqeh. I guess this doesn't really make it fit here, but I'm writing this page so I get to put it on.
- F-17 Sandfly - We armed the YF-17 properly and made it a stopgap between F-5s and F-18s. It's fun!
- F-29A Ascender II - We also armed the X-29. Shin would've loved this one.
- F-18L Light Hornet - An unbuilt version of the F-18 made solely for land operation. Less obese than standard!
- F/A-18X HARV - The High Alpha Research Vehicle, while real, is obviously unarmed. It also doesn't have a cool designation with an X in it, they just call it HARV.
- F/A-18AF Advanced Super Hornet - Modified, stealthier version of the F/A-18E with a whole bunch of goodies. Most of these trickled down onto normal Super Hornets IRL, but here they get to be a separate jet!
- MiG-21MGBT - A Finnish recon variant with a stronger ECM suite. Of course, this means it gets to be our one and only EWO in the MiG-21s bloodline!
- MiG-21Y-8 Superfin - This one is just the MiG Ye-8, with a bit more weapons. Definitely not what they would've called it.
- ST-21 Quickcat - An unbuilt “upgrade” to the F-14D, this proposed cat was a desperate attempt to keep the Tomcat airborne and the Super Hornet grounded. As you can see, it didn't work.
- AST-21 Strikecat - Basically what you see above, but more strike-focused.
- EA-10B Misthog - We took the twin-seat A-10, and made it do EWO stuff. Because doing stuff at night is boring.
- RF-111A - This one was also a recon plane, so we made it an EWO. You can see the pattern here.
- RF-111C - Literally the plane above, but with a different Aardvark.
- F-4VX Sea Ghost - The real life F-4(FV)S was, thankfully, unbuilt. Now the variable geometry Phantom can only hurt you here.
- F-4IX Spectre - The real F-4X was a recon plane that also went unbuilt. So, we weaponized it and made it real.
- A-16 Rattlesnake - A strike variant of the F-16A, this one's got a big gun and a small airframe. Still maneuverable enough for furballs, too!
- F-62A VISTA - We bolted weapons to that one F-16 with the funny thrust vectoring, it's quite interesting.
- F-16N Pit Viper - It's just the Navy's aggressor Viper but weaponized, that's about it.
- F-15CX - A single seat F-15EX didn't grace our earth, but it does get to grace Strangereal in SSE. Whole lot of missiles, this one.
- F-15M Active Eagle - A weaponized F-15 ACTIVE, you can mess up any airspace violator and do a backflip over their dead body.
- F-15 STOL Eagle - A weaponized F-15S/MTD, you can bomb quite a lot of stuff with this plane. And then do a backflip over their dead bodies.
- Su-27KM Golden Sea - The original FSW Sukhoi, before the S-32 and Berkut. It's navalized as well! Never went anywhere, for good reason.
- xS-32A Golden Eagle - The predecessor to the finalized Su-47, this one ditched the naval part of the Su-27KM. Also comes with funky single engine nozzle.
- MiG-25RBV - Instead of being a recon-bomber, the RBV now gets to enjoy being an EWO with access to AAMs. Probably a better fate for it.
- MiG-25MP - A stepping stone between the Foxbat and Foxhound, the MiG-25MP was never pushed into service IRL. Of course, that doesn't stop us.
- Yak-39 Super Seabreeze - A projected VTOL multirole fighter built off of the Yak-38, this ambitious project never went anywhere. Neither did the normal Yak-38, considering how much they sucked.
- Yak-41M Freestyle - A proposal for a finalized production version of the Yak-41M. Larger LERX were added, and avionics were updated. None built, but you know how this goes.
- Yak-43M Super Freestyle - A proposal for a development of the Yak-41M, fitted with the engine off of a Tu-160. An interesting plan, for sure.
- J-9A Flashpoint - The real J-9A was a jet interceptor competing with the J-8 for acceptation into service. It lost.
- F8U-2NE Bread Crusader - This one's entirely real, It's just called the F-8E because 1962 was ages ago.
- F8U-1000 Crusader Enhanced - A heavily modified F-8 designed as a competitor for the International Fighter Aircraft Program, ran in response to the MiG-21.It won, but ended up not being awarded a contract. It is, however, lighter than a normal Crusader, with a J79 engine.
- A-7F Strikefighter - A modified, supersonic A-7D-based interdictor with an F100 engine from an F-16 fitted. Canceled due to the realization the F-16 has existed for nearly 20 years at that point.
- F8U-3C Crusader II - The F8U-3 was meant to rival the F4H Phantom II for the Navy's fighter program. Unfortunately it was canceled, as the workload required to fire Sparrows was thought to be too big for one pilot.
- A-6G Super Intruder - A comprehensive upgrade to the Intruder, replacing pretty much every possible avionics component with a more modern equivalent. Also, it carries AMRAAMs.
- A-6F Intruder II - See above, except with F404 engines.
- RF-104G Stareyes - Just like… well, every single recon plane before this one, the RF-104G also gets to be an EWO.
- FL-288 Starlancer - A proposed evolution of the F-104, trading one engine in the fuselage for two in the wings. Kind of like a Meteor, but much worse.
- FL-1200 Lancer - A mockup fighter based on the F-104, marketed for export. Lost the export market to pretty much every Western jet out there.
- F-27-1600 Super Lancer - A modified FL-1200 for research of speeds above Mach 2.6. None built, thankfully.
